Ammunition
Use only ammunition matching your firearm's exact chambering, and follow the manufacturer's instructions. Subsonic ammunition can fail to cycle a semi-automatic host and, in some combinations, can fail to clear the bore — always confirm a clear barrel after a report that sounds wrong. If you are not certain a round is correct for your firearm, do not fire it.
NFA items
Suppressors, short-barreled rifles, short-barreled shotguns and AOWs are federally regulated under the National Firearms Act. The federal transfer tax on those categories was reduced to $0 effective 1 January 2026; ATF approval, registration, background checks, fingerprints and photographs were not affected, and machine guns and destructive devices were not included. Several states prohibit these items entirely. Verify current federal, state and local law before you order or build anything.
Compatibility and safety
A threaded muzzle does not establish that a suppressor fits. Caliber rating, thread pitch and hand, mount system, minimum barrel length, pressure rating and thread concentricity all have to agree, and only the suppressor manufacturer can confirm the complete combination. Mounting a can on an unsuitable host risks a baffle strike, which destroys equipment and can injure you or a bystander. Nothing on this site is a substitute for that confirmation.
We do not publish instructions for building, modifying or repairing suppressors, and nothing here should be read as encouragement to manufacture an unregistered item.
